How do I outline my fonts?

Before uploading your vector artwork, you will need to convert your fonts to outlines.  This insures the appearance of the font is preserved when we send your files for print.  The font is converted to a vector object.

If fonts are not outlined, the text in your artwork may change when it goes to print as we do not have/own all the fonts that are designed.

To convert font in your artwork to outlines in Adobe Illustrator,

  • Select the text with Selection tool.
  • Choose Type > Create Outlines to convert the text to editable paths.
  • Your text is now a vector shape.  To confirm your texts are now outlines
    • Choose View > Outline
    • Your text is now made up of lines, points and curves
  • Save your artwork  (Please note after saving your file, you will not be able to convert back the outline to a font.  It might be a good idea to save as another name)
